Noa Mosquera Lago
What is your previous job experience?
For five years, I worked in the hospitality industry as a waitress at St. John’s College. I enjoyed my time there since there were many different events going on and I was surrounded by students who were similar to me in age.
What would you say motivates you?
I am motivated by helping customers and most importantly, ensuring they’re comfortable and enjoying their time here, with no issues. I am also motivated by the prospect for advancement here at the Møller Institute and developing my skills so I can progress in the hospitality and events industry in general.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
I love to find unique original clothing in charity shops, I don’t like to look like everyone else and prefer to express myself in my own way. I also do not support fast fashion. For these reasons, I think working at the Møller Institute is fantastic because of the great sustainable and ethically sourced products.
How have you found working at the Møller Institute so far?
Lovely, I really like it, I love the diversity, both within the workforce as well as clients and programme participants. Previous places I have worked at, there was a lack of it, which is a shame because it makes me happy to work with people from around the world. That way, it’s never boring!
I have also gained confidence since being here, I can speak to my team and clients freely which really helped me come out of my shell.
Are there any upcoming projects you’re excited about?
There are two overseas programmes coming up that I will be assisting– from Peking and Peru, for which I am excited about. As mentioned before, seeing customers from different areas of the world is always lovely, not to mention that the chefs cater regional foods for participants and we get to eat that too, so I can’t wait for that!
What made you want to work for the Møller Institute?
I think its because of the exclusivity of the Møller Institute but also, in my interview, I asked if it’s possible to express yourself and how strict the dress code was and it was great to find out that you’re able to be express and be yourself. The Møller Institute is very accepting of differences and peoples personal choices.
