How long does the application process take?
We respond to applications within three working days to allow our selection panel to evaluate your application. We will let you know if your application has been successful via email and inform you of the next steps.
What is the profile of participants?
Participants are senior investment promotion professionals from investment promotion agencies, economic development agencies, special economic zones and government entities involved in investment attraction. Participants typically have several years of experience in investment promotion or a related field. The programme brings together experienced participants to learn, share and understand how investment promotion professionals can excel in helping their locations attract investment.
How is the programme delivered?
In-person, at our inspiring purpose-built leadership development centre within the grounds of Churchill College, University of Cambridge. The programme is three and a half days in total, with some pre-work. Led by the Programme Directors, the programme includes a range of sessions with our expert speakers, which include representatives of multinational companies, professors from Cambridge University, executives of leading investment promotion agencies and other specialists. You’ll focus on your own leadership through interactive and discursive sessions, have Q&A sessions with experts. The programme also includes a site visit to understand how the Cambridge innovation ecosystem contributes to attracting foreign investment.

What will I gain from this programme?
We know from previous participants that the opportunity to take time out and reflect upon your approach and how you operate is deeply valuable, particularly when sharing with your peers and building relationships. You will understand the impact of the global environment on investment promotion agencies and the factors that determining how companies invest today and in the future. You will deepen your knowledge of investors’ decision-making processes and how they choose locations. You will acquire practical knowledge to implement successful investment promotion strategies whilst strengthening your leadership skills to manage high performance teams. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate issued by the Møller Institute and endorsed by the University of Cambridge’s Board for Executive and Professional Education.
Do I need to be proficient in English to attend?
The programme is delivered in English, so you will need a strong command of the language to get the most from the programme. Our cohorts are very international, with lots of participants whose second language is English so you will be in good company. If you have any concerns about this, please contact us.

What’s a typical day like?
We start around 09.00 each day and following a series of sessions with regular breaks, we’ll have a group lunch. The afternoon brings more sessions and concludes with a reflection on the day’s learnings. On the first night, you can join our group dinner and you are welcome to explore the wonderful city of Cambridge on other evenings, which is just a short walk from the Institute.
Where can I stay?
Here, on-site with us. Accommodation is included free-of-charge as part of your programme experience. The rooms at the Møller Institute are close to our meeting rooms, where the programme will take place, we therefore recommend staying with us or you can organise your own accommodation if you prefer.
